ABOUT COLLECTIVE VISIONS GALLERY & THE CVG SHOW
Collective Visions Gallery, CVG, is the largest commercial art gallery in Kitsap County, and at 30 years, the oldest gallery in Bremerton. CVG is an association of West Sound Professional Artists working together to encourage a passion for the visual arts through a program of art sales, exhibits, lectures, concerts, and other art-related events designed to connect the gallery to the community. Among these events is Bricolage, the Bremerton High School Art Show; Ars Poetica, in which gallery members collaborate with area poets; participation in Wayzgoose, a downtown Bremerton art fair in September; the Westsound Printmakers Show; and the annual CVG Show.
The largest and most important of these events is the CVG Show, an annual state wide juried art exhibition. The CVG Show has grown to become one of the largest and most competitive juried art shows in the Pacific Northwest region. Every year, this prestigious local art event attracts numerous artists and a large audience of viewers from the across the state. The 2024 CVG Show was wonderfully successful. Some 543 artworks were submitted for consideration by 287 artists from some 76 cities and towns throughout the state. From these submissions, our juror chose 138 pieces of art to display in the show in our gallery in the Arts District of Bremerton. Over $12,000 in cash and purchase prizes was awarded to participating artists. The gallery hosts the show for about 6 weeks each late winter and we get significant numbers of art lovers coming from some distance to view the show.
The Eighteenth Annual (2025) CVG Show will take place at the gallery from January 11 to February 28, 2025. We plan to meet all health guidelines in effect at the time, and we hope to give visitors the option of viewing the show in person as well as via an online venue.
The CVG Show is not self-supporting. We rely on our sponsors to provide funds for all the prizes, jurors’ fees, and gallery rental during the show. Nearly all the organization and preparation for the show is done by our committee members; only a few technical tasks are contracted out to outside workers.
